APPLICATION AND REGISTRATION PROCEDURE Important: Students must apply for admission and be accepted before they can register to study the course of their choice. How to Apply for Admission
1. Select the course you want to study.
Confirm your best direction of study: a. Contact our Info Centre at tel. 0860 010 3682 or via email info@cct.edu.za and request information on courses that suit your interests and current qualifications. b. Make an appointment with one of the Student Support Officers at any of our campuses for a career assessment.
2. Collect or download an Application Form. a. Collect from any of our campuses or Central Office. b. Download from our website.
3. Complete the Application Form and a. post it to the address indicated on the back of the form; b. fax it to the number indicated on the form or to the relevant campus where the course you’re applying for is offered; or c. deliver it to the relevant campus in person.
4. Wait for the letter of acceptance to be sent from the campus where you have applied. This letter will indicate the following: a. Confirmation of your acceptance to study the course you’ve selected. b. Details regarding the course fees. c. Date of Registration. d. Date of enrolment interview and/or career and placement assessment, if this process has not yet taken place.
5. Should you wish to enquire about the status of your application, please contact the relevant Campus Coordinator and/or Programme Manager at the campus at which you applied to study.

How to Register
New Students (Students enrolling at College of Cape Town for the first time)
- Complete the Application process.
- Bring your letter of acceptance to the campus where you will be studying and follow the registration steps as indicated in the Registration Checklist below.
- Ensure that you bring all the required documentation with as indicated on the registration Checklist, including your original ID book or passport:
NOTE: No copies will be made at the Registration points.
Students transferring from another FET College: The original Statement of Results/Academic Record and a letter of good conduct from another FET college. These documents will be returned to the student. If you wish to apply for subject credits, you should do so during Registration.
Returning Students (Students already registered and continuing their studies) 1. Obtain your Statement of Results at campus. 2. Consult with academic staff on your direction of study. 3. Follow the registration steps as indicated in the Registration Checklist below.
International Students (Students who do not hold South African citizenship) Follow the procedure for Registration as set out above, depending on whether you’re a new student or returning for further studies.
Also take note of the following essential requirements for the Application and Registration process. All applicants who did not obtain their qualifications in South Africa please note: You need to submit all your qualifications to the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) for an evaluation. The College cannot respond to your application until you submit a certificate issued by SAQA stating the NQF level of your qualifications. During the Application and Registration process, the following is required from all international students:
- A valid study permit made out to the College of Cape Town, or a certified copy of your refugee status document and/or passport.
- Proof of comprehensive medical insurance valid in South Africa (Hospital Plan or Life Insurance only will not be accepted).
- No international student will be registered without certified proof of a valid study permit and medical insurance. The College reserves the right to verify the authenticity of all documentation.
- Bank deposit slip or proof of electronic transfer as confirmation that the required fees have been paid.
All international students, including refugees, must follow the same procedure, viz. report to the respective departments for academic clearance.
During Registration, all international students must first report to the representative from the Office of International Affairs for clearance.
REGISTRATION CHECKLIST The Registration Checklist describes the process to follow during registration on campus, as well as all requirements linked to each step. Please ensure that you have all documentation ready for each step to avoid delays in your registration as a College of Cape Town student.
