South African motorsport has globally reconised heritage, based on a history of success in Formula 1, the Paris-Dakaar Rally, World Superbikes, World Rallying and many other categories of motorsport, on both two and four wheels.

The College of Cape Town is enthusiastic about the opportunities that exist, in order to grow the sport in Cape Town.  The establishment of a Motor Sport Academy at the College of Cape Town will open up new markets as well as new opportunities for students who otherwise would never have become part of the main stream activities of the sport.

The College is busy with several engagements to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or a Statement of Intent that could serve as a platform for future deliberations and discussions.  These partnerships would bring innovation in both training and development in the automotive industry.

The purpose of the Motorsport Academy will mainly be to offer our learners academic excellence, practical experience and exposure to the motorsport industry across the curriculum.  Furthermore the College can offer the motor industry a continuous supply of competent employees.
