National Certificates N4-N6 (leads to diploma)

NATIONAL CERTIFICATES: N4-N6 (leads to diploma)

This course is available at our City Campus and offers students the opportunity to specialise in the fields of graphic design, photography or graphic processes. It consists of an N4, N5 and N6 Certificate. After completing the N6 Certificate students need to submit proof of 2 000 hours of practical experience in industry/practical to the Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) before they can qualify for the National N-Diploma.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

What do I need to have completed before I can apply to study this course?

  • To enter N4 – Intro N4 and or Grade 12
  • To enter N5 – N4 Certificate
  • To enter N6 – N5 Certificate
  • To apply for a National N-Diploma – N6 Certificate plus 2 000 hours of practical experience in industry (to be logged in a prescribed logbook).
  • Photography students are required to provide their own camera for the duration of their studies.  Specifications and details are obtainable from the Art & Design Department.

COURSE DURATION

How long will it take to complete the qualification?

  • Each National Level Certificate takes 6 months to complete
  • To complete all the National Certificates will take at least 2 years
  • Enrolment in January and July
  • You will require 18 months industry experience to convert the Certificates to a N-Diploma
  • Students will need to buy an art kit and materials for the course **
