The CISCO Networking Academy Programme (CNAP) has been in operation for a number of years and is a comprehensive e-learning program that provides students with the Internet technology skills in a global economy. It delivers web-based content, on-line assessments, student performance tracking, hands-on laboratories, instructor training and support, and preparation for industry standard certifications. The Department has won a number of prestigious awards, including the following:

  • The first TVET College in South Africa to implement the Cisco Networking Academy Curriculum
  • Only Networking Academy in Africa to delivery Panduit Cabling Curriculum (2003 – 2007)
  • Cisco Academy Sustainability Award 2007
  • FET Award for the Most Innovative Programme 2007
  • Cape IT Initiative Award for a Top Cisco Student 2007
  • The CSIR Hosted Achiever Award Nomination (Science and Technology category) 2010
  • The DoC’s 3rd Annual ICT Expo Skills Competition – Top honours to a CCT student (2010)
  • Best TVET Cisco Academic for 2014 and 2015
  • Top performing ex-students now at CPUT’s Degree programmes for 3 years running (2013 and 2015)
